Amnesia: art from South America [Exhibition Catalogue]
Amnesia explores South America as a forgotten continent within the context of a dominantly Western art world, examining how the issues reflected in contemporary discourse have been formed, shaped, and processed through a colonial history. Serving as the first major introduction of many of these artists to an international audience, this exhibition catalogue traces a variety of artistic, political, and cultural issues through the work of sixteen contemporary artists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela. Essays by Monica Amor, Dan Cameron, Charles Merewether, and Adriano Pedrosa.
