Filmed on location in Los Angeles, New York, Mexico City, and Sevilla, Spain, God Is My Copilot features the incendiary work of the Philippine-born artist Manuel Ocampo as well as revealing interviews with Ocampo, collector Dennis Hopper, artist Julian Schnabel, Museum of Contemporary Art curator Paul Schimmel, and many others. The film documents the controversy surrounding the young artist and his sudden rise to fame, as well as the state of the contemporary art world and Ocampos own concerns about racial identity and multiculturalism.
