At Track 16, we’ve long been fans of Simone Gad and her brutal, playful, and vulnerable work. The daughter of Polish immigrants and Holocaust survivors, Simone moved to Los Angeles in 1951. At age 73, Simone’s work continues to explore themes of trauma and survival — as seen here in her mixed-media collage series juxtaposing vintage pin-ups with rescue animals.
It seems only fitting that Simone has generously suggested the Gentle Barn for a charity collaboration with Track 16. We will be donating 50% of the proceeds from this sale to the renowned animal rescue non-profit. Every Simone Gad piece you purchase helps support the Gentle Barn’s life-changing work to rescue and rehabilitate abused animals, while providing hands-on healing interactions with children who have experienced trauma.
